Phil 23rd, Jack 37th.
Phil 11th, Marty crashed out but ended up landing on another rider so he came through it unscathed. Phil is always there for us in the crits.
Danimal 18th, Phil 22nd, Coolio 43rd.
Marty was able to stay with the front group and finished impressively at 15th. Mike (The Quiet One) crashed but back on his bike and finished 28th. He’s quiet and hard. Phil came in at 26th, Coolio 31st, Dan G. 32nd after taking some huge pulls. Jack was 33rd and Bob (Riff-Raff) Fuller was 35th. It’s important to note that both Dan G. and Phil both spent a little wheel time in the ditch after getting forced off the road. Nice job of keeping it up guys.
Stage 1 Road Race: Marty 22nd, Bob Fuller 23rd, Coolio 26th and Jack 35th. Dead Dog, Stage 2, Crit. Bob Fuller 22, Collio 24th, Marty was about 22nd but had issues with the sign in sheet.
Dead Dog, Stage 3, TT: Jack 22nd, Collio 26th, Bob Fuller 27th, Marty 28th.
Dead Dog GC – Bob Fuller 19th, Coolio 21st, Marty wasn’t scored in the GC. See "issues with sign in sheet"…
in the rain – Jack braved the conditions and scored a solid 10th.
Jack representing with a 15th in the 35 Open category.
Dan G. 7th, Mike (The Quiet One - keep an eye on those front chain rings) Danaher 17th , Coolio 31st, and Loch 47th. Mike didn’t realize he was in the big chain ring. WTF? I was in my small ring the minute we started up that mother. Good job Dan G.
This is impressive: Mike (The Quiet One) Danaher 8th (2:10:51), Dan G. 12th (2:14:15). We’ve got some badass climbers. Now for the “all arounders” - Marty 36th (2:28:06), Marco (he’s back) 47th (2:34:20), Coolio 55th, and Loch 69th.
Omnium TT - Coolio 13th (18:09), Marty I missed my start time Albe 14th (18:26, but really closer to 17:00ish), Marco 15th (18:35).
Salida Omnium RR - Mike (The Quiet One) Danaher 9th, Phil (he’s back too) 16th, Marty 20th, Dan G. 22nd, Marco 26th and Coolio 27th.
Salida Crit. - Marty 15th.
Salida GC - Marty (no issues whatsoever) Albe 9th! Sweet job Outlaw. Marco and Coolio were yanked from GC contention because we started the crit but didn’t finish. Whatev. Mental note, in an Omnium you must finish every race you enter. Apparently this is an Omnium rule.
Danimal (he’s back too) 10th. This is a good race for you Dan. Phil 14th - did I mention he was back?. Bob (Riff-Raff) Fuller 23rd (down from the mountain…bike), Dan G. 29th, Coolio 33rd and Marco 35th.
Our squad is presently in 5th place with 179 pts.
Phil 19th with 54 pts. , Mike (The Quiet One) 23rd with 50 pts., Dan G. 30th with 39 pts., and Danimal 31st with 33 pts. Marty is in 54th with 13 pts and Bob Fuller is in 89th with 2 pts.
Man, we absolutely kicked ass at Look Out this year. Listen to this, Mike Danaher 3rd, Phil Ensign 4th, Dan Grygier 10th. Marty Albe and Bob Swadley posted good times as well. These results gave us a jump start on BAR/BAT points.
Speaking of kicking ass, Dan Miezala, aka "Dan(imal)", did so at RMTT and posted a 4th best time of 18:14. Phil was 12 seconds back and scored a 9th place. Dan G. posted a 16th best time of 18:55 in his drops. Jack McDaniel was next in 29th (19:58), then Bob S. in 30th (20:07), Bob Fuller 34th (20:15), and Loch Etheridge 38th (20:31).
Our "A" squad posted a superb time of 18:04:56, just 4 seconds out of 2nd place and 2 seconds out of 3rd place. Nice work Dan(imal), Phil and Dan G. The "B" squad made up of Jack, Bob Fuller., Loch and Bob S., worked very hard and managed a 8th place with a time of 19:43:88.
Marty Albe was first SEAR wheel at WOT with a 15th place. Jack was right behind him in 18th, Dan(imal) 28th, Marco 30th, then Bob F. and Bob S.
Phil was best at 20th, Marty was next at 26th, Bob S. 29th, then Jack and Dan G.
On his road bike Jack posted a 24th best time of 22:33:31. Bob F. was 28th at 22:48:70, then Bob S., 30th with a time of 23:07:20 and Marty 32nd at 23:08:61.
Marty, Bob F. and Bob S. all started this race of attrition and only Bob S. finished (28th). Marty flatted out and Bob F. put in his hard efforts early then bowed out.
Phil, after being off the bike for several days, came into town and delivered at 14th. Marty was tough that day too and scored a solid 26th place.
I would be remiss if I didn’t go outside the ACA and report on our Iron Horse results. I'm here to tell you the 45+ squad has some serious climbers. Listen to this: Mike D. 5th and Dan G. 13th. That's serious representation in what is a very popular and difficult race.
Speaking of excellence, not only do we have climbers, we have got serious TTers. Dan(imal), 1st, CCTT Overall. Congratulations Dan. Phil, 5th, CCTT Overall. Congratulations Phil. Mike Danaher cracked into the points and finished 29th overall. Loch and Bob S. also participated in the series.
The 45+ squad is sitting in 3rd place through Coal Miners. We have 79 points. Subway is 2nd with 104 points, Spike is first with 161 points. In 4th place is Pro Peloton with 68 points, and Vitamin Cottage is next with 60 points.
Phil Ensign is best SEAR rider with 32 BAR points. Phil is sitting in a very respectable 5th place. Congratulations again Phil. Mike Danaher (the quiet one), is presently in 12 place with 21 points. Dan(imal) is in 14th place with 19 points and Dan G. is 17th with 16 points.
It was a hard man's race with wet surfaces and an extremely fast start. Spike went to the front shortly after we got underway and they just drilled it. The group split with only Phil managing to hang on to the first group. The rest of us kept our cools (thanks in large part to Marco's organizational skills) and we formed a tight/efficient paceline to catch on to the breakaway. The group didn't stay together long however. We hit the rollers and the group shattered into much smaller groups of 3-7 riders. Phil "GC" Ensign scored an impressive 9th place. And by the way, huge props to Phil on his a very impressive start to the season. You've got mad game GC.
The new guy, Mike Danaher, also had a great race with a 17th place, and Jack grabbed the final spot with an impressive finish at 20th. Nice job men. The rest of us finished a bit later spent but feeling proud of our effort. We all rode strong. Dan G. ended up with a frame problem. Dan, do you have another option for Lookout?
Five racers showed for Koppenberg, Dan Grygier, Phil Ensign, Marco, Coolio, J-Mack and Bob Fuller. The wind was, in a word, "horrendous". This was a Spring Classic, Colorado style. We were charged with climbing that nasty little hill 6 times. Dan Grygier was savvy enough to get into an early break on the first lap using Marco's pull as a launching pad. Dan stayed away with the second break away the entire race and finished an impressive 6th place. Phil, Marco and Coolio stayed in the main chase group. We fought hard worked together all day long. On the last lap, a few hundred yards from that "nasty little hill", Phil put in an attack that stuck and finished 10th. Nice move Phil. Marco was next at 19th, then Coolio at 21st. Jack was in the second pack and finished 27th. All in all, a very nice beginning for the 45+ squad. We've got some new blood on our squad and they're all business.
There wasn’t a 45+ race on the program for AST, and the only team member to race was Jack McDaniel in the 35 Open category. 65 guys lined up for a very fast early season race. McDaniel hung out in the main group (first hard ride of the year) as two breakaways were unable to stay off the front. Those remaining in the race finished together in a huge sprint – some mid-pack fun Jack.
Phil Ensign, Marty Albe, Marco, Bob Fuller and Coolio all braved the rain and wind to get to the start line. At the gun the weather was actually quite good. Yes, there was a moderate wind at the time, but no rain and for that we were all very grateful. The race began and there was a breakaway almost immediately. Two guys were off the front and they stayed away the entire race. Our plan going into this race was to race as a team in every aspect. If we had a guy whose nose was in the wind, we were to let him into the draft. If we had a guy in the breakaway, we were to sit in.
Phil Ensign was near the front on the second lap (of five) when two guys attacked. Phil was positioned right to respond and he grabbed their wheels. Coolio was at the front and sat up upon seeing our man in the breakaway. Amazingly, the whole peloton slowed and this second breakaway containing Phil had 30 seconds on the main peloton before anyone could react. We all sat in or went to the front to slow down the peloton for the next two laps. On the last lap the attacks came. Phil's group of three caught the first breakaway and they worked together the rest of the race. Phil was strong again and represented well with a 4th place. This dude is the real deal. Marco pulled hard on the final stretch and set up Marty for a good finish. Marco came in right behind him in the main pack.
Again, the theme behind this race story, is teamwork. Without our squad working together and using team tactics, we never would have done this well. Nice job men.
It was windy (again) and that did influence everyone's times. Still, Dan(imal), despite not being on his best form, scorched the course with a 24:35 and finished 5th. Phil was two seconds behind him and finished 7th. These will be our go-to guys on the Rabbit Mountain TTT. K-Mack is racing the 45+ category and he was 21st with a time of 25:57. Mike Danaher, his first outing with the team, was 23rd with a time of 26:03. The rest of the 45+ plus came in as follows: Coolio, 36th at 27:00, Marc Huebl (Rev) 27:38 and Loch (Guido) 27:53. Again, the story here is the wind, Dan(imal) and Phil.
This race day brought us perfecto conditions. Little to no wind and sunshine. This was a day for some PR's. Phil led the 45+ squad with a 2nd place! His time was smokin' at 23:39. Dan(imal) was 14 seconds back and finished 3rd! Great work guys. Mike Danaher was 22nd with at time of 25:12, Coolio was 32nd with a time of 25:37, K-Mack 35th with a time of 25:45, Rev was 43rd with a time of 26:36 and Guido was next with a time of 27:19.
